PRAGUE PROMS and free festivals

TERENCE BLANCHARD QUiNTET is playing @ Mánes on Wed 6th. He is Master Trumpeter. Master Drummer Eric Harland was with him for some albums, including Wandering Moon, which contains also phenomenal piano playing by Edward Simon and propelling double bass of Dave Holland. Brice Winston, one of three saxophonists on that album, is still with Terence and will appear at top jazz evening of PRAGUE PROMS Festival together with pianist Fabian Almazan,  Joshua Crumbly on double bass and Kendrick Scott on drums. Evening at Mánes Garden is already sould out, but ,,,

BOSKOViCE FESTiVAL is starting on Thu 7th and going into full flow on Fri and Sat. Aside of main scene (DVA, ALL STAR REFUGEE BAND, PLASTiC PEOPLE, GARAGE, The CHANCERS), there is german-czech jazz scene with JiŘí ŠiMEK TRiO, iNNER SPACES, SCHULBUS, ANNE MUNKA QUARTETT or MAREK NOVOTNÝ QUiNTET. This festival is not free, but one of the cheapest, and with long lasting good intended tradition and is happening in really nice countryside of South Moravia.
