Czechoslovak sextet Vertigo released their fifth studio album

Marcel Bárta (saxes), Dorota Barová (cello, voice), Oskar Török (trumpet, voice), Vojtěch Procházka (piano, Fender Rhodes, keyboard), Rastislav Uhrík (bass and bass guitar) and Daniel Šoltis (drums) are distinct musical personalities who have been coming together for more than fifteen years in the original formation VERTIGO to create music of perfect harmony and creativity; music that knows no boundaries and that keeps exploring new directions and compositional as well as interpretational possibilities. Their fifth studio album Daleko on Animal Music, for which all the members have provided their own authored music, is yet another proof of their originality and also an invitation to us to join them on a playful journey discovering far horizons.

Third album of NTS trio, titled ZappornO, was released as vinyl LP plus digital download (actually in preparation). Produced by Simon Ratcliffe of Basement Jaxx.

The abbreviation NTS means the common project of three musicians with different genre background: composer of contemporary art-music and keyboard player Michal Nejtek, jazz double-bass player Petr Tichý and the rock drummer Štěpán Smetáček.

Charlie Hunter & Scott Amendola at Jazz Dock

Excellent American 8-string guitar player CHARLIE HUNTER with drummer SCOTT AMENDOLA are playing two nights at Jazz Dock on March 26 & 27 from 10PM. First concert on Saturday 26 is following after 7PM performance of JIŘÍ ŠIMEK TRIO, line up of talented jazz guitar player with rocky edge, who is also member of bands Muff, NUO, S.O.I.L. or electric version of Limbo. His bandmates are Jan Jakubec on bass guitar and drummer Daniel Šoltis, mainly known from great VertigoQuintet (they are actually preparing their fourth album), from Project Z with guitarist Petr Zelenka and reed player Marcel Bárta (their album with guesting Spanish flutist Rodrigo Parejo is also on the way) or Czech quartet of Dutch saxophone player Cyrille Oswald.



Among future concerts at Jazz Dock is Norweigian quartet FRIENDS & NEIGHBORS with Swedish pianist OSCAR GRÖNBERG as guest on March 31.
