8. Free Jazz Festival Praha 2o13 & more
Nijak nezahálí ani série komorních klubových koncertů Stimul Nights, která na podzim také představí zajímavá jména. Hned 24. září se v rezidenčním prostoru Stimul Nights - Café v lese - představí švédský saxofonista a improvizátor Mats Gustafsson se svým žhavým power jazz triem Fire! Vykřičník v názvu švédského tria není planou chlapáckou nadsázkou, ale vcelku střízlivým náznakem toho, co posluchače čeká. Fire! se pyšní drtivou rytmikou rozvíjející hypnotické, repetitivní figury poučené krautrockem i dubem, nad nimiž Gustafsson spřádá divoké improvizace na saxofon, fender piano a elektroniku.

27. října pak vystoupí v Café v lese poprvé v Praze Zbigniew Karkowski, jeden z nejvlivnějších současných skladatelů elektronické hudby. Spojuje světy současné skladby a industriální hudby a je klíčovou postavou pro vývoj náročnějších forem noise music. Vaše sluchovody budou rozhodně stimulovány!

Silence speaks, music listens - Observing through sound and silence
The ability to simply observe oneself in any situation reveals our almost continuous identification with the body and the mind. During this concert, the silence between the improvised pieces will give an unusual opportunity to witness this process even more clearly. Together, each of us will experience this awareness by a mixture of sound and silence, sometimes gentle, sometimes provocative, sometimes serious and sometimes not... pearls of sound on strings of silence.
December 16, 2o12 in Dajana, Jaurisova 4, Prague, from 7 pm: Special guest for this evening is Hearn Gadbois, His more than 35 year professional career brought him in collaboration with many world known artists - musicians and dancers from Patti Smith, Yoko Ono, Meredith Monk, Susan Deyhim, Robert Ean, Gabrielle Roth, Carther Burwell to Master musicians of Jajouka. In the 80's he was a member of popular alternative funk band Saqqara Dogs in New York. Hearn studied the rhythmical wisdom of many cultures - from Brazil, North Africa, Middle-East and Asia to India and developed his own unique style of playing on Tonbak, Dumbec, Frame drums, Daf and other self made instruments. After 9/11 he gradualy moved to Prague, where he composes his music, performs and teaches.
October 28, 2o12 in Dajana, Jaurisova 4, Prague from 7 pm: Special guest for this evening is Oskar Török, one of the top young trumpet players in Europe. He developed a highly personal style and is a rare musician who has mastered the complete range of the trumpet, from the energy laden high notes to the soft, velvety, almost wooden sounds. He plays with Iva Bittová, Vertigo, Sato-San To and others. Cyrille Oswald, a man behind the project, is a musician who uses various instruments and electronics to create soundscapes of many colours and shapes. Born in the Netherlands, he currently lives in Prague where he teaches music. He plays in a variety of ensembles such as the Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra, Wizzards of Oz, The Osmosis, Vitobrothers and others. The entrance fee is voluntary.

The Osmosis version CZ & other impro stories
improvising (ob)sessions at Potrvá on Saturday, March 3 presents The Osmosis: Rodrigo Reijers, Cyrille Oswald, Petr Zelenka - zpěv, kytara, flétny, saxofon, mougongo, dulcimer, perkuse, didgeridoo a mnoho dalších nástrojů. Když moderní improvizátoři potkají Bwiti, může nastat neočekávaná reakce. Připravte se na bizarní, neslýchaný zvuk Osmosis, neo-archaických strážců hranic z Nizozemí, kteří nyní navázali psychické spojení s českými mystickými mistry zvuku. Pouze pro odvážné posluchače s dobrým a upřímným srdcem.

IMPROVISING (OB)SESSIONS, reagular monthly freejazz meetings at Café Potrvá continues in new saeason - each first saturday in month. Every session will be recorded and broadcasted by Czech Radio - Jazz, entry is always FREE. This time we can travel to unknown musicall worlds with guitarist Petr Zelenka and Prague based Dutch saxophone player and multiinstrumentalist Cyrille Oswald and their already existing project Wizzards of OZ. PRAGUE PROMS 2o11 festival has also organised interesting evening at Jazz Dock. On June 29, there will be multi-genre musicall gathering. Evening starts 7PM with Epoque Quartet with singer / violin player Gabriela Vermelho (of Maraca) and percussionist Camillo Caller. From 8:20 trio of pianist and composer Beata Hlavenková is on the bill, then Czech quartet of Dutch saxophone & woodwinds player Cyrille Oswald with David Dorůžka (guitar), Tomáš Liška (double bass) and Daniel Šoltis (drums).
From 11PM there is most experimental part of evening - Vertigo pianist Vojtěch Procházka will be preparing white dock piano with assistance from sound and video manipulator Martin Blažíček. Their preformance at K4 club weeks ago was simply magnificient. PROMS @ dock are contonuing around midnight with last act - Bucinatores Sextet, little brass band led by trombonist, composer and arranger Jan Jirucha, Jr. Entrance for whole evening costs 250 czk only. From other PRAGUE PROMS programme i would like to mention quintet of renowned trumpet player TERENCE BLANCHARD with his usual bandmates on July 6 at Mánes.
